Orere World Cup Day:

We are really sad  that India is leaving us to go back to her hometown in Christchurch. This was a lovely cake that her Mum brought in to share with the class before she left. We will miss you India but wish you all the best in Christchurch.

My Cousins

On Friday my family and I drove to our Aunty's house.Then when my Dad , sister and I walked into the house I could hear my mum calling to me.When my cousin Malia saw me she came running up to me and gave me a big hug. Next my Nan gave me a present from Samoa. She bought me a green and black bracelet and a green and white dress.Then we went down to the park for a little play. Next we had lollies, crackers and cheese. Then my Mum and  Aunty went to the fish and chips shop.After that we went down to the rugby field with our fish and chips and watched the opening of the Rugby World Cup.

The Big Race

Yesterday it was our School Cross Country. When Mr. P told us to go to the start  line, I was filled with excitement. When he blew the whistle I ran and I had butterflies in my stomach. I got really muddy from the mud pit.  I came first in my race.Then we had shared lunch. It was yummy.

Cross Country

Yesterday it was Orere school cross country. We had to wait for a long time for our race. Race 5 was my race. I got really muddy. I came 1st in my race. I felt excited when I reached  the finish line. The bit I liked best was the mud pit.

The Big Circus

Last weekend I went to the circus. The circus people did cool  trick's. It took over an hour. I ate popcorn and a choc bar and it was  yum.  I saw  two clowns.They  were funny. I loved it .  They made me laugh.

Slime recipe

We are learning  to write  instructions. Here is a recipe for slime.
You will need:

• corn starch
• food colouring
• water
• a bowl a jug and a cup

What you need to do:
          1.Put one cup of cornstarch into the bowl
          2.Add a littile water and mix until gooey
          3.Mix in some food colouring
          4.Play with the slime.

Last night Dad bought us K.F.C. for tea. I had chicken, potato and gravy, coleslaw, chips, garlic bread and a drink of orange juice.

Yesterday we went to Sunday School and met Jarvis and Molly. The first thing we did was decorate  our folder with stickers. Then we were told  to show our folders. Te Ariki and I got  certificates and a chocolate fsh  for  being new students. After that we had something to eat.

In the holidays I went to see Cars Two. We had a family bucket and ice cream. There were ferraris and lambourgines. Some of the cars blew up. There was a car called Frosty. After that we went to the Sky Tower.

India

Yesterday my uncle took me fishing. I got all wet so we had to go home.I got wet because I tripped over. I felt itchy.

In the holidays I went to my Nana's house. My uncle was there. I slept in the lounge. We went to the  food court and I met my cousin Darren there. We had McDonald's  for lunch. After that we went bowling. I played some games. It was fun. I was the best at bowling.

On Thursday Orere school went to Auckland airport and we saw some big aeroplanes. Then we went into a 747  and a 777. After that we went in the hangar. We also saw Jean Batten's plane. Her airplane was called the
Gull. After that we went home.

My school went  to the Air New Zealand Hangar. The 747 was my favourite plane. The best part was when I got to  sit in the cockpit.When we were finished at the hangar we went to the terminal. We saw Jean Batten' s plane there. We had lunch there.

Visit to Auckland airport

Wow! what an amazing day we had visiting the Auckland airport last Thursday. Orere school was the first school to actually have a look and see the Boeings aeroplanes getting rebuilt.We couldn't believe how big the planes actually were. It was really cool seeing inside the cockpit where the pilots sit and where they sleep. Afterwards we went and saw Jean Batten's plane. Her plane seemed so small compared to the Boeings.

Swimming photos

Well its week 7 and only one more swimming session to go! Its great to see the progress  all the students have made with swimming in just 6  weeks. So much more confident and with  style!. The instructors have been awesome.

Welcome to Room 2's blog. We have got off to a great start this year and have 22  awesome students in our class.This term we are going to the Manurewa Recreation centre for swimming lessons.Our topic for the term is Flight and we have learnt all kinds of interesting facts about flight already.
