Amazing Godwits

As  follow up to our visit to the Miranda Shorebird Centre we have been learning about the amazing godwits that migrate to Alaska each year.

Cats

Since Pet Day Room 2 has been reading stories and poems about cats as part of a Language Arts Unit. We have been learning how to use descriptive words and similes in our writing to make it more detailed and interesting. Here  is a selection of our descriptive wriitng about cats-

Beach Clean Up

After listening to a highly motivating presentation from Chris,(Sustainable Coastlines) all of Orere School went down to Orere Point for a beach cleanup. 
When we got there the beach looked pretty good but it was just amazing how much rubbish we collected.

Autumn Leaves

Room 2 have been writing descriptive poems and stories about Autumn. We went outside and  looked at the beautiful  colours in the autumn leaves.Then we had lots of fun playing in the leaves!!
